Today Garrett said he has learned a lot about being a parent, particularly understanding and empathizing with other parents. He said he used to walk into people's homes with small children, see their tornado of a house and think, "looks like you've given up on life". With only one one year old and he totally understands how it is; you put one thing away, and the toddler has moved onto getting three more things out. It is never ending. Kale is busy, and explores everything. He is pure joy, and brings pure joy.
Kale's favorite "toys" right now are a law school lanyard, a swifer, and anything small like chapstick or a pen (with a secure lid). He loves his shoes and brushing his teeth-or sucking the tooth brush-it is one in the same. And he finally likes baths again!
